 Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
– Experience with installing a Network or Linux system.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience with hardware architecture, maintenance, and repair.
– Knowledge of networking, including topology and protocol concepts.
– Understanding of Linux and networking, including installation, systems administration, and troubleshooting.
– Ability to work as a team member, collaborate with others to help resolve issues.
– Ability to learn new technical skills.
– Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
About the Job:
As a Data Center Technician in the Cloud Region team at Google, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the efficiency and sustainability of our data centers. You’ll employ innovative strategies to reduce operational costs while maintaining the highest standards of environmental sustainability. Your responsibilities will include monitoring, maintaining, and deploying the physical infrastructure behind Google’s search technology. This involves deploying and maintaining advanced Data Center Server and Network Infrastructure, collaborating closely with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to repairs, upgrades, decommissioning, deployments, cabling, ETC.
2. Identify trends for machine failure, report bugs, and collaborate with remote teams to resolve issues.
3. Participate in projects involving deployment, maintenance, and support of current and new data center infrastructure.
4. Configure and troubleshoot Linux OS related issues on servers, resolving critical or escalated technical issues across a significant population of affected equipment.
